About Vicarious Surgical

A next-generation medical robotics company designing technology for minimally invasive surgery with a focus on abdominal access and teleoperation.

Mission & Story

Mission

Our vision is to design a surgical robot that enables surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery with 3D visualization and accurate control. We champion a healthcare industry where patients in every community can expect and have access to the most advanced quality care, at a predictably lower cost, with the best possible results.

Founding Story

Founded in 2014 by Adam Sachs, Sammy Khalifa, and Dr. Barry Greene. Inspired by the movie Fantastic Voyage in which doctors shrink down in size to travel within the human body, the founders' vision was to enable surgeons to essentially do the same through an entirely separate design of robotic architecture and actuators.
